Description

Schematic

MQ2

The MQ2 sensor is an analog gas sensor that is used to detect gas leaks. It is suitable for the detection of combustible gas and smoke in concentrations of 300 to 10,000 ppm. It has high sensitivity (adjustable by potentiometer to activate digital output) and a fast response time. It is composed of an Al2O3 ceramic microtube, it has a sensitive layer of Tin Dioxide (SnO2), the measuring electrode and a heater. The sensor has 6 pins, 4 for the measurement of the signal and 2 for the heater, however the module directly has an analog pin, another digital, in addition to power and ground.

Characteristics:

  • Power: 5V
  • Heating voltage: 5v
  • Load resistor: adjustable with potentiometer.
  • Heating resistor: 33Ω ±5%
  • Consumption: <800mW
  • RL: 1K
